The purpose of The Society for the Study of Difference also known as The SSD is to promote scholarship, teaching, and research pertaining to the notion of difference and to publish jointly or independently the Journal "Dif-ferance" among other publications, inclusive of on-line, and activities. Membership in The SSD is open to any person interested in furthering the purpose of The SSD and in participating in its activities for the sake of difference. Current members consist of university faculty, students and independent scholars and researchers in difference-related philosophy and similar disciplines from both sides of the Atlantic as are no geographic limitations on membership.
